Laurelroll

Free, run not-for-profit, open to anyone

The volunteer service honor, without the fee.

Bronze, silver and gold for confirmed volunteer hours, at the levels of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, paused since May 2025. Each supervisor confirms by a private link. Each award has a page anyone can check.

What you send, what you get back

Three steps, a couple of minutes each. Nobody makes an account, and nothing costs anything at any step.

1 · You submit

Each time you volunteer

Date, place, hours, what you did, and who supervised you. Add entries as you go, or all at once at the end.

2 · They confirm

Your supervisor taps a link

You send them one link by text or email. They see your entries, confirm or correct the hours, and type their name and role.

3 · You receive

A certificate with proof inside

Your record, milestones and level update the moment hours are confirmed. Print it, save it as PDF, or share the link.

Why a school can trust it

Anyone can type a certificate. What makes this one worth something is what stands behind the QR code.

A named person vouched for every hour

Hours count only after the supervisor, or the organization, confirms them under their own name and role. Self-reported hours are shown apart and never counted.

The proof is public and live

The QR code opens a page showing each entry, who confirmed it, and when. A school does not have to take the paper’s word for it.

Confirmed entries are locked

Each confirmation is fingerprinted. If anything changes afterwards, the verify page says so in plain words.

Same bar as the national award

The hour levels are the PVSA’s, by age group, counted over 12 months. Organizations can prove they control their website.

What we do not claim

Laurelroll does not check identities, and it is not a government award. Every page says so. To be certain, a reader contacts the organization named.

Who runs it

A free, not-for-profit project. No ads, no data sales, no accounts, no fees for volunteers or organizations.

The Laurelroll Service Honor

Free bronze, silver and gold levels for hours your supervisors confirmed in the last 12 months. The hour levels match the ones the President's Volunteer Service Award used before it was paused, so they mean the same thing to a reader. It is our own recognition, not a government award.

Built for the hours you need

Why not just ask an AI for a log template?

An assistant can write you a nice table. It cannot reach your supervisor, collect their confirmation, keep the record safe for four years, or give a scholarship committee a link to check. Laurelroll does those four things, and nothing else.

Questions

Who can give the Laurelroll Service Honor?

Two ways. A volunteer earns it from hours their supervisors confirm one by one through a link. An organization can also issue it to its own volunteers from a roster, attesting their hours. Each award says which way it was given.

Is Laurelroll really free?

Yes, every feature, for everyone, with no ads and no paid tier. Laurelroll is run on a not-for-profit basis: it exists to make volunteer hours count, and it never sells data.

Does my school have to sign up?

No. You start a record yourself and your supervisor confirms with a link. Nobody needs an account. Schools can still ask for their own form; your verify page and printout back it up.

How do I know a confirmation is real?

Each confirmed entry shows the supervisor's name, role and organization, the date they confirmed, whether they signed on a different device from the volunteer's, and a fingerprint that changes if the entry is edited. Laurelroll does not check anyone's identity, and the record says so.

What if I lose my private link?

Your link is saved in this browser. Copy it somewhere safe as well: Laurelroll keeps no email or password, so a lost link cannot be recovered.

Who can use it?

Anyone 13 or older. Younger children can volunteer with a parent, who keeps the record in their own name.
